Wine Shop Manager

The Elegant Cork is looking to hire a full-time Wine Shop Manager!

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Greeting and interacting with customers

  • Educating customers about our wines, merchandise, and menu items

  • Maintain Safe Server program

  • Keep work environment clean and follow all sanitizing practices

  • Maintain tasting room daily operations including (but not limited to) restocking, inventory management, purchase supplies, cleaning glassware or dishes, cleaning customer areas and removing trash

  • Create a monthly event and promotion calendar

  • Assist with event planning, set-up and hosting private tastings and various site activities

  • Follow site policies and procedures

  • Complete projects and other duties as directed by management


Requirements:

  • Applicants must be 21 years of age

  • This position must be able to work weekends (Tuesday - Sunday), some holidays and evenings

  • Wisconsin Bartender Program (Preferred, but will consider candidates that are willing and able to take the four-hour online program)

  • Committed to providing excellent customer service

  • Ensure all customers meet age requirements to taste and/or purchase alcohol

  • Possess a basic understanding of wine

  • Must have a clean and professional appearance

  • Can work as a team

  • Comply with all required cash drawer and cash handling procedures

  • Able to stand for long periods of time

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Must be detail-oriented

  • Ability to lift and carry wine boxes and perform physical tasks as needed

  • Have a reliable commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)


Experience:

  • Bartending or Serving: 1 year (Preferred but not required)

  • Experience in retail sales or a similar hospitality setting (Preferred but not required)


Job Type: Full-time, on site

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred)
